April 2012 at Household Linens

All last week, we were taking part in the Titanic commemorations by giving each customer a Titanic postcard to mark the centenary, and even now our front window still contains a display of Titanic glass cloths, of which we have quite a variety. It was nice to see so many businesses making the effort, most of all in Cobh where Gemma even spotted staff members in the local Wilson’s pharmacy dressed up in costumes of the Titanic era. It has to be said that the centenary was well marked all around the country.

This April, new stock has continued to arrive.  We now carry a whole range of PVC shopping bags, and they continue to be popular amongst our customers, particularly during this week’s rainy weather when they do a good job of protecting groceries! As-well as two Titanic designs, there are also  cats, farmyard, seaside images and Julie Dodsworth’s oh-so-pretty Calamity Jane and chocolate box designs. Mini shopper bags are €10 with larger bags at €14 and €15.

We also have a new array of cushions, draught excluders and even bean bags in nautical summery designs, sure to cheer you up when the Irish weather turns grey and cloudy.

We’re glad to say that our ever popular Spundown quilt, usually available in either a 9.0 or 13.5 tog is now also in stock in an All-Seasons version. All-Seasons quilts can be very useful as they are made up of both a 9.0 tog and a 4.5 tog, which, when fastened together make a 13.5 tog. So you are covered no matter the season. The All-Seasons Spundown is available in all four sizes (Single up to Super-king) and can be washed in a domestic machine at 60 degrees. Recommended by our own staff!

Blackout ready-made curtains are a new addition in our line of ready-mades. They are available in three colours: a denim blue, a light pink and beige. Reasonably priced, they can be a good buy for light sleepers, disturbed by early summer mornings.

With so many new products, the shop is looking very inviting right now, so do come in and have a browse, you’re always welcome!
